Origin and Description

Hüller Bitterer hops is one of those ghosts wandering around the empty keg yard. This variety was the prodigy of the Hull Hop Research Institute in Germany, and was prided for the first wilt resistant variety to come from the program. Its difficult to find even traces of this hops with exceptions of historical context.

Hüller Bitterer is or was a dual use hops with an alpha acid rating at 4.5%-7.0%. It is on the lower side of bitterness, but is still known for its clean bittering qualities. Hüller Bitterer is also known for its aromatic qualities.

Hüller Bitterer was bred for its resistance to wilt, and also came equipped with a tolerance to peronospora as well as downy mildew. The medium sized cones came from moderately low yields medium to late in the growing season.
